Well the Supergirl trailer has arrived and it looks like a giant flaming turd!

Just, just once I would like to see a movie/tv-series with a woman superhero that doesn't go down the route of using garbage romcom tropes, but it doesn't seem like we're getting that this time. I never had any hopes that this show would be any good (come on, it's on CBS) but I never quite expected to go as far as this cross between Ugly Betty and SNL's Black Widow parody that they appear to be going for. The only redeeming factor seems to be the effects which actually look quite good, what a shame to waste them on this garbage.

Eau my god......Its The Devil Meets Prada + Ugly Betty meets Charmed + Superman circa the early 1970s. The dialogue sounds so damned dumb and immature. Its so disgustingly simplistic. . It looks like another old guy's attempt at: "the young people should like this!". The music is even dumb.

These stories won't stop being made because there is a market for it and it's easy money for hollywood to make. We aren't the target audience here. This is basically targeting a much younger audience. It's terrible yes, but there will be people watching this.

Target audience seems to be girls, i.e. not guys.

Besides, I'm somewhat satisfied with The Flash as long as they keep the teeny bopper romance to a minimum (Iris is just horrible). Tom Cavanagh is too good of an actor to be on that show. He just outclasses almost everyone.

Maybe guys will be interested in this Supergirl show if the romcom stuff is less emphasized, but I suspect it is meant to tap into the girls demo anyways.

I watched the pilot yesterday. I doubt I'll tune in come November.
