Nice.

Always did like some other bands better though:

Not much is better than classic RUSH. =) That Quarterflash tune was good, though. They've got another good one from that same LP, "Find another fool" too.

I really feel sorry for the young'ns today. They really have very little if any really good music that is created by people in their age group, like we did back in the 70's and 80's. Back then, you could see the biggest acts live for between $7 & $10 bucks/ticket. Some of those shows I can remember as clear as if it was last night, which is saying something, considering the amount of intoxicants consumed during some shows. (back then, a DWI stop was a minor annoyance, no more than a legal slap on the wrist)
There were shows in smaller venues that you could catch a buzz just by breathing the air around you.

Intoxicants aside, there is nothing similar to the music and entertainment environment which existed back then; going to concerts every weekend.

Quarterflash has lots of good tunes.

One thing I liked about them was they never let the big time go to their heads. Marv and Rindy Ross still play today both in Quarterflash and in an historic music ensemble called The Trail Band. They prefer live music to recording and live instruments where possible to electronics.

RUSH is the greatest band ever! :smiley_joy:

I've seen every tour of theirs since Permanent Waves. (April 1980 for moi.) They are still going strong today and, as I understand it, are working on a new album.

OMG A 2015 TOUR HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :icon_e_surprised::icon_e_surprised::icon_e_surprised:

*Rumor is this may be a "farewell" tour, but I hope not. As it is I expect them to add dates because my town isn't on the list and they ALWAYS play my town (and they always add dates). Of course I'll see them in at least one other city, but I'm not sure which one yet. I usually default to Chicago but this time I might treat myself to somewhere far flung.

At any rate, shut your mouths and get your tickets now!!!! :joy::joy::joy:

Like you say shave this might be the last big tour . I bet they will still do small venues though to stay on top of things . Gonna get my tickets when they come out . The one problem I had at the last concert was it was way too loud and if I did not know the song , I'm not sure a non fan would not have known the song . Audio was clipping like crazy . Could have been where I was located and I also wear ear plugs . I was pretty close to the stage and it was free tickets too boot !!! Woohoo .
Enjoy the show ...
PS . I just watched Beyond the Lighted Stage and my daughter got me Rush Time Machine for xmass

It's funny how Rolling Stone magazine ignored RUSH for decades, preferring to focus on hipster bands that had the lifespan of a burning match. Now though they are acting like they just discovered this great Canadian band. Too little, too late Rolling Stone. The fans know better.

Is that Pat Benatar singing for Quarter Flash ? I forgot about that song lol . It's great . Love the sax !

:) :) :)
No, that's not Pat. Pat and her guitarist husband, Neil Giraldo are still active; touring at times. I've seen her twice in the past year and a half or so. She was doing a tour last fall with Cher, but Cher took ill and torpedoed that tour bus.

I'll still go to small venue shows, like at the Indian Casino where I saw Pat recently; capacity of the joint was less than 1000 people. But my days of going to the arenas that Rush plays are long gone. I'd much rather wait for the R40 BD to come out. To me, it's just not worth putting up with the hassle and aggravation of large throngs of people, not when my home theater/audio setup can provide sound that is the equal of any concert venue. And almost as loud, too. :p Same reason I don't do theaters anymore unless its something like Trek or such that I want to see as soon as possible. It's just not worth the hassle.

I follow the same philosophy except for RUSH. Since they're my lifelong favorite band I have no choice but to see them in big venues. Other than that though I tend to stay home as I loathe large crowds these days.
