Rewatching SGA-- Amazing!

I finished up with my sg1 rewatch before the holidays and now that I'm home I am doing an sga rewatch. FYI - I workout to a tv show....I ride an exercise bike or use my treadclimber for 40-ish minutes- enough for an ep of something fun. It makes exercising relatively painless. :D

I was amazed as always by the pilot for SGA. that has to be one of the best pilots for a scifi show! the episodes are paced very good-- not trying to build too much info or too many backstories into each ep. Just finished the one with the Hoffan drug...wow that was the 6th ep...followed by meeting the Genii! Fast moving and very well done.

I must admit the first couple of seasons were excellent - then the quality dropped and we ended up with the season from hell - season 5.

I recently rewatched seasons 1 and 2 as well (about a month ago). AWESOME! I thought the show was awesome, especially after a failed attempt at rewatching SGU (I got halfway through episode 3 before I could not go any further). I plan to rewatch SG-1 when I can plan it properly. :)

SG-1 is a great rewatch from beginning to end. :) If you watch two or three a day, you are still looking at a couple of weeks. Im rewatching all seasons of DS9 right now. Im on Season 6. Atlantis should be my next rewatch...that or Firefly!

So far this year I have done Smallville to bab5 to Farscape, to DS9 and now on Eureka.

Well, 3 out of 5 ain't bad. The other two suck melodramatic balls. Can you guess which two are not like the others? :icon_lol:

The two you don't like :D

Eureka is almost finished now, so I am not sure where to go to next.

Go further back. Space:1999

Every episode is available on Youtube, probably because the copyright has expired and it's now in public domain. I watch it on my Samsung TV via the Youtube app. Still love the show.

Note that SGA used its premiere properly - it laid the foundations of the series "universe" and provided the viewer with sufficient information that the characters and their behavior makes sense. It didn't tell you everything but told you enough for the show's storylines to be understandable.

I love that show! Granted I prefer season one to season two but even season two is solid.

To be fair, as much as I love SGA, complex well developed characters with suprising developments was not really a "problem" it ever faced :P

I have the remastered Season 1 Blu ray. It looks fantastic and really it isn't about updating effects (as they are still good today) but more sharpening the images and colors and such.

Here's what I was referring to. I thought I had seen actual episodes but apparently I was wrong. I like the ideas they have for redoing the series' effects and correcting some inconsistencies. Watch the entire thing through, they show you some of the concepts they want to execute on the original series.

bolded= oh c'mon! all thats needed to complete sgu is motivation, a will to win (in this case that would mean watching it all without finding a tall tree and a short rope), fortitude and a handful of narcotics

watching all of SGU can be considered de rigeuer for watching any of today's constantly downward spinning TV/ movies--the "primer" to prepare one's internal 'bullshit bar' and bring it to a level slightly above one's ankles
