I cant see her pulling this off. After the utter abomination that was Alien 4 Resurrection, there is nothing left in that franchise to do. The alien-hybrid Ripley was already a huge stretch after she was killed in molten metal in Alien 3. That franchise is pretty much dead. The Predator/Alien thing was going somewhere, but the human interactions with Aliens does not need to happen. No need for a Ripley.

They just need to deep six both those franchises and also Prometheus while they are at it. Alien and Aliens were good and after that it turned to crap. Predator was good and that was it. Prometheus was incoherent nonsense (and really that should have tipped people off never to hire Damon Lindelof as a screenwriter - which showed in the equally incoherent Star Trek Into Darkness).

Precisely. Alien and Aliens. Thats it, and that was good enough. But they kept going back to the trough, and Alien 3 was excreted. It was done after that, but Alien 4 really buried it deep. Any further Alien movie will have to pretend that Alien 4 never existed. Prometheus went nowhere, and I do not think anyone is really salivating for any sequels. Predator was good, but Alien vs Predator was not bad. I only give it a pass because the premise was good. How Lindelof keeps working is beyond me.
