They are seen as "properties" now. Brands...as it were. They all need to be individually packaged and marketed for mass consumption as commodities. Like everything else. This means that each will have a team of marketing and brand analysts and they will tweak it and change it to keep sales up. Disney will see to it that each and every character in the Marvel universe is a product in it's own right. Having said that, how many people today know about Doctor Strange?

The silly part is the best Marvel films so far have been origin stories (Iron Man 1, Captain America, Thor, Guardians of the Galaxy - IMHO the best Marvel movie of them all).

Well, the Marvel universe is pretty big so I can understand not wanting to overdo it with various superheroes. The pantheon is just too large to give everyone their own back story movie.

Maybe they're tired of redoing origins on reboots that are completely disconnected, like Spiderman first movies series vs the second movie series.
