Link to article that has a few pics of actors in Jurassic World. No dino pics though. :( (there is a pic of what looks like annoying children, but that's to be expected with the Jurassic stuff)

Where are they going to go with this? There was never a dinosaur which can compare to a monster like say...Godzilla. Even the largest, most pissed off T-Rex would be no match for a simple weapon like a shoulder launched rocket or even a drone. Now if we are talking about hundreds of dinosaurs or perhaps a mutated one, that would be something. :) Please post more tidbits as they are leaked out!

I'm not sure how this one will play out but if I had to guess I'd say it will be the usual set up with estranged lovers, annoying kids/teens and some sort of bad guy who does something whereby the dino park gets messed up and the whole thing devolves into people running and screaming and being eaten. Sadly, none of the kids or teens will be on the menu. :(

From watching the clip that Chevron Atlantis just posted, it looks like you nailed it. :) They actually basically used the same story in every Jurassic movie, and just changed the characters and the circumstances slightly. The kids, the estranged lovers (who come together at the end, bonded by their traumatic shared experience), etc. Oh, and let us not forget that it will be one of the children who saves the day, not an adult. You know, the smart one who happens to know the proprietary software running the park and can hack into it in 10 minutes. :anim_59:

First look at the new film

Thanks for posting this. :) Just from those few seconds, we know the basic plot and story (see Jurassic Park 1, 2 and 3). :rolleye0014:

An aside...as they play out the T-Rex, they seem much less threatening. But the smaller velociraptors which are smart and small enough to enter human sized rooms...as well as that frill lizard thing that killed the computer guy in one of these films, and those swarms of little dinosaurs in the forest. THOSE are scary. :)

It would be funnier if right near the end the T-Rex's and Raptors did encounter the Godzilla from Godzilla 2014. Goji powers up the nuclear breath and then afterword everyone enjoys a tasty barbecued dinosaur dinner...

Yes, it would be nice but unfortunately that runs counter to the formula story structure that they've been using ever since the first Jurassic movie. They are married to the "smart but wise ass kids/estranged adult lovers/cardboard character bad guys" formula. Sadly, that will never change.

Who will they plug in to the Bad Guy role? You know, the one who has set up some nefarious scheme to either steal something from the park or cause it to malfunction in order to undermine the popularity of it? And how will they continue it for the next sequel? Perhaps one of the kids takes home an egg or a baby T-Rex? Maybe a dinosaur will stow away in somebody's bags? :anim_59:

And when the baby T-Rex hatches it will imprint on the kids and be a nice, cute, funny dinosaur. :rolleye0014:

Isn't it sad that we can predict this crap?

HAHAHAHAHA! So true. :icon_rotflmao:

Kinda like the ant on Honey I Shrunk The Kids? LOL! Within minutes, it had a name (Antie) and they were riding it and feeding it cookies. :happy0007: This time, they can have the cute lil T-Rex going into candy stores cause it has a sweet tooth. And the kids will be trying to protect it whilst the big bad military and cops want to kill it. Somebody will jump the gun and wound it fatally, and the kids will cry as it slowly dies in their arms, licking one of their hands just before it croaks. Crying, hugging...movie over. That is, until the next one. :redface-new:

The official trailer here

The Dinosaurs look fake - The ones from the 1st episode look the most real like I have ever seen.

I just watched Jurassic Park (the original). Ya know, it is actual science fiction. :) The cutesy kids and silly "tension" scenes were a bit much, but the overall movie was entertaining, enjoyable and still very rewatchable.

Having said that, this movie comes out on Thursday, June 12 and I am debating whether or not I should pay to see it. The trailer is not all that. It looks like they tried to make it a bit dark, and the actors they have chosen are oddly out of place in this series IMO. Will they center this next one around people or dinosaurs? That is the question. Jurassic Park is always supposed to be about the dinosaurs first and foremost. I really hope they remembered that.

I suspect this one will be more over the top than the previous ones. It's just SOP to keep pushing things into more cartoonish territory with stories like this. It probably won't totally suck donkey balls as long as you keep in mind that it's meant to be an entertaining romp. I wouldn't expect lots in the way of genuine science or even logic for that matter.

One good thing about it is that it's got a very-toned Chris Pratt in one of the lead roles, which makes for some nice eye candy -- for some of us. :icon_lol:

I dunno...looks to me like the human side of the Jurassic cast is merely going to be active props for Chris Pratt's character. This is going to be "His Moment" in film, like Aaron Taylor-Jones was dumped into the lead of Godzilla 2014, and how that other dude was tossed into the lead in Pacific Rim, and the other guy in Avatar. A youngish, handsome faux badboy who gets a lot of screen time but does not deserve or warrant it.

I made a banner which might better describe it...

I suspect Pratt's character will have a past with the female lead (whoever she is) and they will be antagonistic to each other until they make it thru the dino onslaught and then of course they will admit that they love each other, blah blah blah.

Plus there are two kids, or rather, a kid and a teen. So we can be assured of a few "kid saves the day" moments in the flick. Personally I'm hoping the kids are computer geniuses who know more than the adults that are trying to save them. That's always really cool. :rolleye0014:

That said, I won't hate on it because it's pretty obvious what it's going to be -- a typical Jurassic Park story. If it was pretending to be something more highbrow then I'd probably rank on it. It might be fun to see in the theater but I'm not a theater person anymore so I'll wait for cable.

From the TV trailer I caught today, the basic plot puts a twist on the Velociraptors. Chris Pratt's character apparently raises a group of them and they see him as their "alpha". So, this is gonna be an "OMG their enemy is now their friend and ally" kind of bullshit where we're gonna see Pratt and his adopted velociraptor family save the day together.

No shit and not a joke.

F**k this shit.
