After spending a year in space, where she lived and conducted strange experiments, astronaut Molly Watts (Halle Berry) tries to resume a normal life with her family consisting of her husband, John, a gifted scientist, and Ethan, their son, a boy like no the other. He is not their biological son as Molly is infertile. Ethan was designed by his father as the first prototype of a future line of "Humanichs", "human robots". But the return of Molly will have dramatic consequences for the entire planet and the fate of mankind ...

Sounds more like "emo drama" to me and they picked a person who can't act Halle Berry.

Let me guess, the first episode will be heavily action oriented with lots of cool FX. By the second episode the talking will have begun though and will continue until a mildly action-filled season finale that ends on a lame cliff hanger. It will all be pointless though as the show will be deemed too expensive to produce compared to the ratings generated and will be cancelled. Halle Berry will be several million dollars richer though, so we will be able to sleep at night. Whew!

I was watching star trek First contact last night since it was on TV last night, and they aired this trailer, and I fell on the floor laughing when I heard the line, "I am pregnant"...hmmm... I wonder where I have heard that before? I am crossing this out from my list....Next!

I have to ask, why is being pregnant such a big deal when it comes to movies? I don't see why it gets used as a plot device so often? It doesn't create tension, drama, suspense so why do they hire these writers to come up with such bare and shallow storylines?

I'm up to Ep 03 . It's kinda ok but it's got the emo feel to it for sure . They live in a real cool house though and the cars go wirrr wirrr zing away ! I'm really just watchin it for Miss Berry's perky berrys .

Maybe because the writers misogynistically believe that pregnancy story lines appeal to women? That's the best explanation that I can come up with.

I think they stupidly think that a pregnancy gives them licence to see the "softer side" of men.
As a father I call BULLSHIT.

Why do you hate "Magic-fast growing-alien-babies-with-superpowers"? :moody:

I don't, they are a scifi trope.
I hate seeing people reduced to blubbering stains BECAUSE of them.

I tried to watch the show but couldn't get past a few minutes of it. It was clearly a pathetic version of the "rape fantasy" genre that was so popular in women's literature (and soap TV) back in the 80's/early 90's (the university here had a course on it believe it or not). Personally I've never gotten the appeal of this genre, but I'm a guy so what do I know.

I'm visiting my family up north right now and happened to catch this show because my mom is hooked on it.

My mom is a total soap addict. That's all I needed to know this show isn't for me.

Tonight's episode is about Halle Boring trying to get into the facility to see her baby whateverdafuq. Lots of ... *cough* ... action.

Looks like we almost saw the elusive baby, which I'm sure will be this show's recurring staple (omg we ALMOST saw it!)
