It sucked. :)

I hate when this show descends into medieval folklore. :)

It was a nice comedic episode, but I wonder weather it was a good time for such a light hearted one. I still don't think he (PC) has really "claimed" the doctor yet and I want to see that happen before we get more "fun" eps.

Why do you not like DW when it is folklore-ish Bluce?

Because the episodes tend to become stupid. :)

I've had enough of Robin Hood growing up :) and on tv :) along with a host of other folklore-ish stories. :) I think it's lazy writing to pull stories that have been rehashed to death :) and make Doctor Who episodes out of them. :) I also hate :) spending entire episodes in places like Sherwood Forrest and other period-piece style stories. :) I don't mind when the stories go really ancient :) though.

Actually I think Capaldi has more than claimed the role - he is superb in it.

I'm not shocked they decided to go lighter right at this point as the first two episodes were pretty dark and indeed so were the prior three that closed out the last season. By that thinking it was time to throw a lighter installment in the mix.

Plot wise it was a "see the historical basis for a folk legend" episode. The story was okay and flowed fairly logically. Also it never descended into clownishness or wackiness like the last two Doctors tended to. If anything it reminded me a little of "The Time Warrior", as it featured a human villain of the era who got involved with aliens and got in over his head. The acting was all good and overall it was solid to me.

:( I didn't see this episode yet. :( I was out at a bourbon tasting party at a friend's house. :( There was also wine -- and a fire. :( But it was a controlled fire in an outdoor fireplace which was pretty cool. :( We also ate a shitload of steamed crab legs -- the big ones. :( They were awesome! :(

Pray tell...how does one simply "taste" Bourbon? :P Sounds like you had a fun night. :)

Oy vey it was rockin'. :encouragement:

BTW, you "taste" bourbon by pouring successive glasses of different bourbons and then drinking them. ;) There's actually a difference in taste in all of them believe it or not. A ten year old Bulleit was my favorite for the night. Much better than scotch any day of the week.
