How did this happen? The showrunners have found a new loophole (from your link):

Defiance Season 2 averaged 2.7 million viewers and 1.2 million adults 18-49 on Thursday nights, with seven days worth of DVR playback factored in.

How is that "DVR playback" determined? Is it a weighed average based upon assumed viewership? Im LMAO...Do, I have to find a way to indicate number of balls without actually having to put that many in the awards. AND, I lost the poll voting. :)

Like I said above, I think they didn't have any other show to fill in so they are giving this a greenlit. What's sad is that we lost SGA and star trek enterprise which got better ratings than this crap.

7day ratings are a standard part of the product delivered by the ratings companies to the networks.

At least we won't be seeing Revolution again.

That piece of electrically incorrect garbage didn't deserve a place on the schedule.

Did I win anything ? Guess that's why the set was not struck ...
I'll keep a closer eye on the place now . I did see some fancy cars in the neighbourhood as of late . Could have been execs touring the site .

Well look at it this way !. It will give the actors, workers a couple of more days , weeks or months of income . Probly not gonna watch the show regardless . I have to some how get a few pics of the stars ,,,

:) :) :)

For Defiance they probably need to save face after plunging $100 million into the game and show. For Dominion I suspect it is just that they needed to be able to say SOMETHING was successful.

Not to make Defiance sound good, but it did seem to find a sort of footing this last season. The biggest outstanding issue is lack of any explanation of the world the show is set in. Hopefully they dedicate the first part of the next season to that. Really, if we had actually been shown or at least told in a more detailed manner how the world changed to its current state and also if they would just tell us and show us more of the current structure of the world the show would work better.

Shoot. They cancelled SG Atlantis with far more LIVE viewers than that. What would the numbers have looked like if PVR was factored in back then?

Also, Live + 7 is not a usable method for US networks because they rely on advertising showing during the show for revenue. Because a viewer can easily FF through the ads when watching delayed the ad rates are based on Same Day Viewership.

In the UK however, they base everything off of Live +7 for a couple of reasons:

1) BBC is not so utterly advertising funded.

2) iPlayer is in the VAST majority of viewing places. As it is tied into BBC it gives them a highly accurate Live + 7 number.

Ummmm......no......a few quick cuts into scenes with zero explanatory dialogue doesn't quite do it.

Does this mean SGU is coming back?
