Civilization 5

So, I got civ 5 about a month ago and the local EB had a sale on the complete edition so I grabbed that. The problem is it won't seem to update to the new 2 expansions.
Anyone have any advice on that?

Ok, got it working.
Had to uninstall Civ5 and steam, then re-install from disc, then go to steam and give it the new passcode (which it did not give me the option of doing before)

Is it a huge improvement over vanilla Civ5?
I would say yeah. 14 new cultures, and they have tightened up the bonuses for each culture, more distinctive ages, better diplomacy and the addition of spies. Far better trade options with trade routes (land and sea) that also gain you more than just gold. The Addition of Tourism to cause a culture victory rather than just a big monument to your cultural philosophies was really good as well.
The big upgrade is a really good religious system that actually impacts on not just you, but your neighbours as well.

Great game, really recommend it if you are into turn based strategy games :)

Turn based? I liked Heroes of Might and Magic...turn based strategy games are a great segue into board games, no?

Indeed they are, moreso now that they have changed it into a hex based board rather than a diamond/square board.

I think you would get a kick out of the game dude.
I just finished playing as Boadicea and won with a cultural victory, so I am trying to work out who to try with next, and what style of strategy to pursue.

Anyone interested in the game, or should I just let this go away?

As for multiplayer............
you can play via steam, a dedicated server, or................
Hotseat!!!
Yes a new game that still has hotseat!!
I dunno if it is possible, but you may even be able to use that teamviewer thingy, but you would need to have open comms lines to tell people when it is there turn.
