Wasted an hour watching this toilet floater last night and can't imagine that it will last more than one real season, if that. Maybe Joss Whedon has one of those multi-season guarantees that are so popular now, but unless this show really improves it won't matter in the long run. It's boring and uninteresting and what little action there is devolves into bouts of feel good-isms between characters that have been hastily thrown together. It doesn't even have the cartoonish/comic book feel when it comes to the characters. It's just blah and when it's not blah it's mostly stupid. I mean really, a flying car?

The guy who plays Coulson does a good job though, so that's one positive for the show. Oh yeah, Ming Na is in it, but this time she isn't playing a shrill, angry lesbian (that we know of). No matter as no one can save this turd in the long run.

Almost forgot, this boring sewer trout is written by husband and wife team Maurissa Tancharoen and Jed Whedon. I assume he's Joss's son, so there ya go. Last I checked nepotism never really works out too well as is evinced by the boring, poorly written slog of a show that this is.

Awww....:( I had high hopes for this show. Im still gonna download and watch it just to KNOW it sucks. Perhaps I wont think so! But you are usually pretty on target with these things. There is absolutely NO ONE in the show worthy of being handcuffed to your bed? :anim_59: :P

Are you trying to make Ape jealous? Plus my headboard and handcuffs are cheap knockoffs.

It's not great, it's not horrible, it's just sort of there. And no, there is no one in this show worthy of being chained to anyone's bed. :(

Those cheap Ikea pressed wood headboards are the worst, aren't they? It took Tyler Florence all of five frantic minutes to break free of one of those last year. Lesson learned though. ;)

I wouldn't say that it sucked, but yeah it was definitely nothing truly spectacular about it. If it'll have the legs to last longer than one season is the big however question, and right now I'm pretty doubtful of that. I mean sure, it completely crushed it's competition in the ratings with a 4.7 demo (NCIS got more overall viewers though), but that will definitely be coming down in the next few eps.

Oh and Jed Whedon is Joss' brother who he co-wrote Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-long Blog with.

As I read that, I was expecting something regarding his head going through the head board. :icon_lol:

Oh okay, good to know. Truth be told, I was too lazy to research who he was because I just didn't care since the show he wrote was so boring to begin with.

I bought a padded head board for my wife's well being. I guess my mind was already there. :icon_lol:

Sir, I fail to see what your libidinous activities have to do with this fantabulous new show, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D by the amazing and mistake-proof Joss "I smell like boiled ham!" Whedon???

Hopefully they improve it over time, but the premiere felt a bit too much like Alphas which royally stunk. It was "okay" but just lacked any real feeling.

Okay, I sorta....liked it. :hide;

Im glad Coulson is in this series as himself. he provides a familiar face for this series. Im okay with the other unknowns too, but the hokey geek teem of the two Brits dont work very well. The chick "Skye" came off too much like Kate Freedlander from Sanctuary. Street smart, pretty and snarky...plus has mad computer skills? Yeah...uh huh. Still, she is not as over the top. I realize this is the premiere so I can forgive some of it. But why all the S.H.I.E.L.D. vehicles and that big ass plane? I hope it can cloak like the flying aircraft carrier did in the movie (which they refer to frequently in this premiere). They talk about Tony Stark and Thor and Hulk, but will we see any of them in this? Somehow I think they will dole those appearances out very sparsely if at all.

Still, I liked it. :)

The flying Lola (Coulson's classic red Corvette convertible) brought a smile to my face at the end. Im willing to watch the next episode, even though this definitely has very little "wow factor".

Yup, these computer whiz kids were just too cardboard to believe. Their characters all felt very forced.

I liked it. :) I dont see how they can use it much, unless it has weapons....but I am guessing Tony Stark designed it for Coulson.

So, yesterday i finally got around to watching THE AVENGERS. Coulson dies in it-so I am assuming this series takes place before AVENGER?

Also, I am assuming from Avengers that if one wants to see the backstory of the interpersonal relations between characters in it, then I must watch IRON MAN 2,THOR, and CAPTAIN AMERICA?

Not exactly...Coulson DOES "die" in Avengers, and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D comes AFTER Avengers...they even reference the attack on New York in the series frequently.

Also, I am assuming from Avengers that if one wants to see the backstory of the interpersonal relations between characters in it, then I must watch IRON MAN 2,THOR, and CAPTAIN AMERICA?

Yeah, you should watch those too if you want to see how Coulson fits within the interpersonal relationships. You could leave Captain America out and get it, but it would be a good idea to watch those. :)
