A couple of 'small' shows that are fairly good...

I say small because the seasons are deliberately made short (6 -10 eps or so)

THE RED ROAD on sundance tv (and amazon and netflix i think)
has Momoa--in a show where he actually has to act and not just look tough, fight and grunt

he is pretty good so far also

has tom sizemore playing a part that i think he he made for--and Mike Farell (from MASH--"BJ") playing a low key villain---refreshing to see the forever goody two shoes play a baddie for a change

And on USA --DIG

it is NOT religious--that is, despite the theme (lunatic religious groups--Jew and Christians-using science and politics to manipulate armageddon to restore the temple) if any thing it is anti religion in the way it shows religion to be a well spring for insanity

it also was very short and ending next week for the season

the first for eps were kind of slow in a establishment/know the characters kind of way, but it picks up

I am not making threads for them as IMO, most here are probably not into these shows as I am..but, who knows?

This looks good...NOW it looks like I can take Momoa seriously, since he has short hair. :) I dunno, I cant take a man seriously that has very long hair or dreads

BIG difference.

there are 2 seasons now-with one ep left in season 2--only 6 per season

it is def. watchable, entertaining and even a bit funny (that low key guy humor)/there are so many sub stories BUT it doesn't over-do it and get you so confused with everything that you just turn it off

and Momoa can act! I never saw him as anything more then just a tough guy stand in-- like "hmmph,we need someone here, who can we use for 'insert tough guy here' and have him grunt?"

I def thought that of him in SG-ATL and his appearances in CONAN and Game of thrones just backed up my original opinion

and the way he delivers lines--so important and so low key--no overblown drama queen spectacle

hey--wait! Now Momoa's a guy I'd like to see play a ST CPT... :daniel01:

DIG is pretty good too...

So...why did you give me a dislike? :) The hair thing perhaps? Let me ask you this...outside of fake wrestling on TV, what ACTUAL "tough guys" (like bouncers, cops and gang members) do you ever see with long hair? Im including people like Phil Robertson and his clan, because without those guns they are nothing.

As far as Momoa, he just comes off as more badass with short hair than his long haired or dreadlocks look. Ill try this show out. :)

Give him a marine cut and he can be a real boy!!

I think Thor is a very tough guy character, and he has long hair. But the real life tough guys all seem to have short hair. In Momoa's case, the shorter hair along with his new scar makes him a pretty badass looking dude.

Well Dig is very likely gone after this season. It's pulling only about 1 million viewers and its demo number is frightening (0.19). USA cancelled Covert Affairs which had far higher ratings (1.59 million and a 0.4 demo).

well, i can understand why..like i said, the first 4 or so eps were pretty "draggy", a great way to turn off or attract anyone in today's tv-scape

hopefully they have some kind of ending for next week if there is no S2.

And what is it with Georgia for cryin' out loud?

TWD and others ,now RED ROAD--Which is supposed to be in the hills of extreme NE Jersey-is filmed in Georgia as well

Just a "thing" that peeves me--NE Jersey, in the forests and hills, is a nice place, in between the landfills and highways and polluted rivers that is

I had a marginal interest in Dig, but decided to wait until it was done, and I mean really done as a show, not a fake-out cliffhanger like CBS pulled with both Under the Dome and Extant after promoting them as limited series. I had thought they said it was only going to be eight episodes but apparently it will be ten, with the last one coming next week. I'm still waiting to find out if it really is the end, plus what the consensus opinion is.

On the shows wiki site-it says they originally had an order for 8 eps for first season, then USA asked for 2 more. Guess that extra shows are made-or at least we all know that there is always plenty of extra footage from which another 42 mins can be scrapped up from.

I like DIG-I was bored at first but was intrigued by where they were going with it all

I am not going to "defend" it-I just like it and find it entertaining

I am now interested in why it seems that Peter has been apparently targeted well before hand for some role in the whole nutty process
