I don't like the message it is conveying...but it LOOKS good visually. And like Pussy said, it looks very Blade Runner-ish. Seems like a long Underwear Model/GQ/Vogue/Maxim sorta thing.

I don't understand the "hype" around this show both from people who want to watch it and from the promotional side. It's just a show about cloning. Has been done so many times before. Maybe I'll like it if I see it, but from reading the synopsis I read I didn't get a "o yeah I have to see this" vibe.

O and I don't like the name either. Unimaginative.

well it is the same as the book it is from

i have watched the first 2 eps

the main actor is a guy i like whenever he is in something--not necessarily the material but the guy's persona makes just about anything watchable--he could have been in SGU and his performance would have made it worth watching

these are NOT spoiler, just basic over lay of the plot i have seen so far:

it isn't just about cloning. the cloning and the 'banking/icing' of bodies mainly prisoners. funny and predictable--given the natural evolution of our current uber capitalistic world-how this "resleeving" into prime specimens at an early age can only be done by the wealthy while others get less desirable bodies based on ability to pay

victim restitution is done by the state on 'you get what we give' basis. an asian couple gets their 12 yr old hit and run victim daughter back as a older middle aged white woman. so typical of our bureaucracy in the hands of high tech

the main tech point of the show is the cortical stacks in every one from 1yr of age that updt daily and store all life experience,. when re sleeved, this stack is transferred surgically into a "sleeve", a body.

interstellar travel is not really any further advanced then where we are now. such travel is done only by digital, sub space. the consciousness of a person is sent by sub space to a desired planet/station where it is downloaded into a new stack and then into a body.

it seems that initially-though it hasn't been clarified yet-that this travel was facilitated by some alien species physically similar to humans who volunteered their bodies/clones in human form to allow humanity to travel interstellar distances

all i can say about the show itself and its watch ability is that the first 2 eps are good :)

of course that probably means that now it is doomed and no one will watch it!

My rule of thumb is usually "if they really REALLY want me to watch something, or buy something, and they spend millions on hype and stunts like this, then it probably is not all that great'. Really? A breathing 3d body at a bus stop? Just who are they pitching this movie at?

The lengths netflix is going to, to promote this show...

Some people think this is 'creative'.

yeah, watched the whole series

nothing like this in it, just some hype that was supposed to get viewers. all we saw with anything remotely like this was some quick shots of your standard sci fi industry clone/cryo pod type stuff

watched it all

it is a pretty entertaining show. combines mystery, zen like movements (anti 'live forever' groups), the twisted sue of science and alien gifts to mankind and the standard 'the wealthy rule the world' fare

OF COURSE NOW that I said it was good, no one here will like it :)

it also ended in a way that everything can be said to wrapped up or there is some room for expansion

if it does go on, given the nature of the tech used in the plot, the same actor would probably not be in it.

Really? You feel like that is how it goes down for you here? :) I loved the 100 and you told me about that. There are some others too. Nobody here seems to like some of the shit I like too but I understand "different strokes for different folks"!

give it a try past the 1st episode. it has more then 'one layer' and is pretty entertaining
