Blade Runner 2049

#1. I haven't seen this one yet but I might actually go see it at the theater because it looks good. If anyone has seen it please give a review.

#2. The media seems to be trying to shit all over this movie for some unknown reason. There have been a slew of negative articles claiming gender bias and male favoritism in the movie. Personally I don't give a shit about that and I find it to be nothing but nonsensical whining. The original was a cool movie and I'm hoping the sequel is the same.

#3. There has also been a lot of claims that this film is already a box office failure when the truth might be different. This film was released on October 6th, three days ago and has made $82,000,000 million worldwide in that time. That is more than half of its $150,000,000 million budget. In three days. It hasn't even been an entire week yet. It seems too early to count this one out but I guess we shall see.

OMG this woman, Aimee Lutkin, is an idiot, and an arrogant one to boot. That's a dangerous combination in a person, especially one with ovaries because that always seems to override the rational faculty of the human brain. For starters she claims a $200,000,000 million budget for this movie which is a figure she pulled out of her flabby ass. The estimated budget for this film is $150,000,000 million, that's $50 million less than this cow claims (check IMDB). Where did she get that figure? No one knows. And she doesn't have to prove the legitimacy of the figure she came up with because she has a vagina. She can say anything she wants because she's a woman and if you challenge her you automatically become a rapist pig. Long live the gynocracy! :rolleye0014:

She also claims that this movie "fell flat on its face" because "ladies" weren't buying tickets to it. Um, yeah, Blade Runner was never a "chick flick" you stupid cow. Women never comprised the majority of the fan base of the original movie. In fact, there really was no female lead in the original film. "Rachel" (played by Sean Young) was essentially secondary to Deckard and Roy Batty, the male leads of the film. BR is a guy film. It always has been and always will be. Women buying tickets to the sequel was never a prediction or expectation. Give it up you brain-dead slag.

The rest of this moron's "review" of a movie she most likely did not see, as proven by her statement in the article, is making my brain melt. Feel free to check it out yourself at the link below but be warned, stupidity lies ahead. Aimee Lutkin is truly a moronic human being who uses her vagina as a cognitive tool and it shows. If anyone deserves to get cancer for being an idiot it's this woman. She's an intellectual POS.

I for one am a huge huge huge fan of Blade Runner . I have every directors cut which I believe adds up to 6 different DVD's and the Collectors Blade Runner kit with the miniature flying cop car in the box which I have never opened . I also have the soundtrack , and the game .The original movie was not as good as I hoped it would be but I still loved it . The whole premise and the 6 year limit of the Nexus Robots set the stage for the Nexus 6 lifelike Droids and there wish to live longer . It's a wonderful movie and Harrison Ford was just awesome as the top Blade Runner . It showed a bit of a dystopian future and it made you feel that our future could steer that way . A flying car chase was all that movie was missing but that was fine by me as I think Star Wars had been out a bit and we were expecting a flying chase around the city which never happened . Bet we will see it this time around tho . The Nexus Bots in the original really were the center here and it worked well .
I will definitely be going to see this ...

Just read that dumb asses review . So its wrong to have a movie that would cater to a guy only apparently with her . Why would that matter ? And what's wrong with that !

There is a term "Chick Flick", but not one for us fellas. Perhaps it's the default? But the fact that Blade Runner is not a romcom, or a romance or love story (no, Rachael/Deckhard is not what the movie is about), then why change it to appeal directly to women? That will change it completely. Look what happened when The Stepford Wives got tossed into the ladies room....nobody is a robot, all the women are cured and the men get bitched.

I think some movies are women's movies, even though I like them like The Devil Wears Prada and Fatal Attraction.

What really gets me is that the chick who wrote this article has absolutely nothing legitimate to say about the movie. She's snarky and malicious for no reason and constructs an argument that has no substance. Her mendacity in describing this film, that she hasn't seen, is egregious. She outright lies that this movie is failing at the box office and falsely claims it's because women aren't buying tickets to see it. :rolleye0014:

Here's the truth: The movie has only been out for 3 days and has made back over 50% of its budget. That is not failure. After 3 weeks maybe. After 3 months definitely. But making back more than half the cost to make the damn thing in only 3 days is pretty damn good.

Additionally, it's not a movie aimed at a female audience. Women were never expected to buy tickets en masse to see it. It's a male-centric film that mimics its predecessor which was also a male-centric film replete with male lead characters. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

This woman is an idiot who should not be allowed anywhere near a keyboard.

I felt it was allright, some annoying bits.

The robot girl was a bit annoying but the acting by some of the other characters was quite good. It did have some human element to it because of the character development and plot but the pacing was very slow but the music was WAY WAY too loud. Some action scenes I had to cover my ears and some of the scenes made me "go wtf is going on"? That was so pointless. The soundtrack - It would be nice if Vangelis had made the soundtrack with that said, it was nice to hear the ending although, it didn't quite sound like the original one.

The cinematography was amazing though

According to Forbes, Bladerunner 2049 is actually a failure. https://www.forbes.com/sites/scottm...2049s-box-office-disappointment/#675788026ca9

It was way too long . It could have been an hr or more shorter . I found the music to be very strangely placed . Why did we have to keep hearing those stupidly loud low bellowing horn sounds when nothing was happening . In the original you hear the horns because of the blimp adds floating above .
In this movie they just keep blaring them for no reason .
I was also put off by them using Vangelis music at the end trying to compare the main characters death to that of Roy Batty . Nope . It just did not work ...
They only had one skin job hunt also . I was really hoping for more search and destroy like the first one ...
I will always enjoy the original . This one will not be watched again .

I suggest you watch the movie Drive and then BR 2049 . Gosling is doing the exact same character . I don't know how many of you have watched any French Canadian movies. They expect you to understand the expression of the actors face to tell the story . Gosling has zero expression , I mean effen zero . He would fit right into a French Canadian movie where they say nothing but stare off into oblivion and we're supposed to feel what the character is feeling at that moment . I never liked those movies . It soooooooo does not work for being a blade runner even tho in the original BR Harrison Ford's character does do a bit of that but your also taking in the visuals of BR at the same time so it worked .
There are visuals in 2049 , don't get me wrong , there just all wrongly placed and the sound track is all over the place which I mentioned earlier . They basically took BR and added modern visuals to it , made it twice as long as it should have been to show us how they made it look more modern , labelled it and threw it out there for viewers to take in .
Watch it if you like but it's gonna take a while to sift threw a lot of very slow slow slow omg say something Gosling dialogue, very dark scenes and again , no flying car chase which was also lacking in the first one .
I give it a 2.5 to 3 out of 5 .

;)

I don't get the love for Ryan Gosling that's out there. He's one of those actors, like Christian Bale, who tries too hard to be a "serious artist" as opposed to just a good actor. Also, women seem to find him irresistible but I think he just comes across as a big, narcissistic douche. That said, I'll still catch this flick at some point because I loved the original and I'm curious about this one.

I never got the Ryan Gosling allure either. He does not strike me as being leading man material. But whatever...women are insane. :) The movie should have been called "Wannabe Blade Runner". It was not as horrible a flub as the Star Trek Kelvin movies, but it was enough of a departure from the original that it was still a disappointment. The city was wrong, the cast was forgettable, and the story somehow got lost in the presentation. It has the potential to become a cult companion to the original, but it is simply not as cool or in the same class as the original IMO. Seems like many of the elements of the new one are there because of the original and no other reason. The music was too loud, and it was TOO DAMNED LONG!

I did not hate the movie, but I did not love it.

I think the problem is you can't design a classic, it has to happen organically. And doing a sequel, or prequel, to a classic is just asking for trouble. You will never be able to avoid comparisons to the original and you will never win in that comparison. That's just how it works.
