This is like "The Core" and "The Day after Tomorrow" smashed together and wrapped in the storyline and effects of "2012".

I'll probably watch it for some entertainment but not expecting anything amazing.

With this, Hollywood has literally reduced movies to the level of old Kaiju movies which destroyed Tokyo literally dozens of times by actors in monster suits. Everything is super sized, and entire portions of the globe have to be included now. Still not as bad as Independence Day 2 and it's ocean spanning mothership, but up there with that. Good premise, way overdone visuals and mediocre acting. Worth watching once over a beer or a joint, but it's pretty much a one shot CGI orgy you see and then put away.

Splosions!!!

It's that bad of a movie, huh? I almost want to see it now for the cringe factor. :icon_lol:

It is fun to watch, because the visuals are amazing. But go in expecting entertainment on the level of 2012, Day After Tomorrow, The Core, etc. At least you will make it through the entire movie! :shep_lol:

It bombed horribly. Epically.

On a weekend in which holdover films like Blade Runner 2049 and The Foreigner were performing poorly and the only new wide opener, Tyler Perry’s Boo2: A Madea Halloween, didn’t appear to be a direct competitor, Warner Bros.' new $120 million disaster movie Geostorm had every opportunity to deluge the market when it opened on Friday, October 20. So why did it instead wind up as a cold drizzle with a piddling $13 million debut weekend gross, 40% less than the $25 million Tyler Perry comedy earned on nearly 1,000 fewer screens?

I saw it on Kodi. Biggest problem was it was already "been there done that". The story premise was interesting, but the story as it played out was just off. Why Gerard Butler playing the lead role? He did not pull it off.
