Iron Fist

Surprised to see there wasn't yet a thread about this.

Just started watching. On episode 5 now. Aside from the intro theme, which is a bit of an embarrassment as far as Marvel productions go, I am so far pleasantly surprised. I'm into it far more than I expected based on what I saw from Iron Fist in The Defenders.

I heard nothing but bad reviews of Iron Fist so I avoided it. Plus I was so turned off by the Jessica Jones series that I didn't want to risk finding out that IF was just as bad. (I only watched one episode of JJ before deleting it from my Netflix que. It's a truly, truly horrible show about a horrible character.)

I may give Iron Fist a chance if you give it a good review. I didn't really mind Danny Rand in The Defenders to be honest. I think the biggest complaint I heard about IF was that the fight scenes were badly choreographed. But I guess a lot of people got spoiled by the amazing fight scenes in Daredevil and were expecting the same from IF.

BTW, Luke Cage is okay but definitely should have had a shorter season. It goes on way too long.

This can't be compared with Jessica Jones. JJ is in a league all of its own. This Iron Fist is more along the lines of Daredevil storywise. The fight scenes aren't bad but it's not like the show revolves around them. In my opinion that's a good thing. I'm sure you could force yourself to work through a few episodes to see if you like it.

One can hope it's good. Most Netflix productions are terrible so I'm glad to hear one may be watchable.

As to fight scene choreography, I freely admit I've been spoiled by "Into the Badlands" which is in its own universe with regards to fight scenes. But this could be decent.

Well I finished it. You should not expect grade A from this but it was decent enough for me to watch and remain interested. Now I kinda wanna watch the first episode of The Defenders again to see how it went from season finale to season starter.

Have you watched Daredevil yet? There is some amazing fight choreography in that show, especially early on. I don't want to give too many spoilers but have to mention this one extended fight scene (that they repeated in season 2) that blew my mind in season 1. They literally keep the camera rolling for several minutes without a break in this one scene. And it's realistic because you see the characters get tired and exhausted from throwing punches. I believe it's in episode #2.

I just did Luke Cage, also not bad and am now re-doing Daredevil. I don't think I'll bother re-doing Jessica Jones, but I'll probably re-do The Defenders after Daredevil.

Got er done . That was not bad at all . Now I think I will give Luke a shot . I have watched a bit of Daredevil which I thought was pretty good also but never finished watching . We are getting an amazing extended summer here so going to be outside a lot and not much time for shows ..

I watched Iron Fist twice now and watched Daredevil for a second time. I watched Luke Cage only once but watched Defenders twice. That's the reason I watched the other show's twice really. Saw Defenders the first time and felt that I had to watch Luke Cage and Iron Fist after that. Then after having done that I felt I had to watch Defenders again. I've had enough of it for now, but am looking forward to The Punisher. I just hope they won't fuck that up. I saw a trailer of it and it had a scene in it where his wife was shot in their house, which is different from the story in Daredevil. It could have been a dream. (hopefully) I really liked the Punisher character in Daredevil.

You mean there is a fifth character with the Defenders group ? Well I mean Coleen is kinda a fifth Defender too working with Iron fist guy on more ways then one , lucky Iron fist. Claire also of course helping all the Defenders when she can from what I have seen so far . Will have to look into the punisher also .
Wow . You gave them all a second go ? Cool .

I still reckon that the reason why a lot of these shows don't get traction or get cut off is because netflix has been flooded literally with garbage and i can tell you that there is probably a few people paying their way to keep it on the top of netflix. Churn and burn.

The first season of Iron Pist was lame and unwatchable so I gave up on it quickly. (Same with that horrible Jessica Jones.) I found "Danny" quite likable in The Defenders though and admit that he was actually one of the few bright spots in that series. It looks like they improved the choreography for the action scenes for season 2 but it doesn't matter much to me because I dumped Netflix a few weeks ago and have been quite happy with Amazon Prime so far.
