Sunshine (2007)

Just watched this movie. Never saw or heard of it before. It was mentioned to me by a colleague so I figured I'd give it a try.

Movie is alright. Not five stars but it kept me interested enough to watch the whole thing. I would say at least three stars out of five. It has an intriguing concept I've not seen before in other movies. It is quite predictable though. You can just feel it coming when things are about to go wrong. Some things you might predict straight from the start.

Synopsis:
A team of international astronauts are sent on a dangerous mission to reignite the dying Sun with a nuclear fission bomb in 2057.

If you want to know more, ask me. ;)

Sunshine is a weird film.

The first half is simply outstanding. Then the second half turned into something akin to a slasher flick which was disconcerting. I'd have liked it better had the Pinbacker character been left out.

Indeed. I'm of the same opinion. It wasn't the second half though, more like the last quarter of the movie. The end is weird too. Though it remains an intriguing premise. Unrealistic, but intriguing.

I watched it but I did not expect much when the premise was revealed. This (like Arrival) seemed to me like a movie that dumb people make when they want to make a movie seem smart. I felt that way about Interstellar too.

I enjoyed Sunshine but as were you guys , disappointing that it became a slasher movie also ...

OMG Arrival is such crap ! That stupid camera movement of looking at the ground then pan up to the ceiling shots which happened all too often pissed my eyes off royally . Then the main characters life is all over the place with a bunch more camera shots panning down to up ... What a piece of crap ...

I was soooo disappointed in Arrival. The visuals were interesting, for about a minute. But the rest of the movie was a huge letdown. The ending was total crap too.
