Okay, give me some credit for trying.

I TRIED to watch the premiere...I really tried.....but about halfway through I gave up.

First, it was an exercise in utter fanwankery. They killed off Glenn and Abe really for no other reason than that they died in the comics. And then they had Negan torture Rick and Rick (now we have submissive shemale Rick) bowing to Negan.

Second, when you kill main characters it doesn't work too well if the character is unlikeable (Abe) or one who you teased killing for two seasons (Glenn). After what Abe did to Rosita why should anyone care about him? Which leads to...

It's not a very good idea to kill off the only likable character on the show. Namely Glenn. Who exactly are the viewers supposed to identify with now? All the rest of the group are drama queens. It makes it really hard to care at all about the characters.

Also stomached threw that ep and barely got half way then shut it off . Killing Glen was a huge mistake. Glen and Virgil were the only likable characters and with Glen gone who the hell cares about the others .
Why did they have Abe's character become an asshole. I was almost starting to like the guy as he was a great zombie killer .
Also the show has gone from a zombie apocolpyse and turned into a gansta movie or something . Killin the zombies was what makes the show almost watchable . Now its human killing human . Zero reason to watch a show called the walking dead when they keep killing the walking living ffs ...

one thing you do got to hand to tptb's--they do have a knack for getting ppl to really hate the bad guys though.

it wasn't enough for negan to just kill two of them, they had him taunt and torture-physically and psychologically

ppl just hunger to see a character like that go down hard

and in no way, IMO, would a whole community of ppl bow down BEHIND THEIR HIGH WALLS just to ensure that one man (Daryll) isn't killed

if they got to go back to alexandria-to their guns and ammo and gates,etc--how is Negan a logical threat?

they beat back an invasion by a gang of psychopaths and a zombie horde- why fear Negan?

like i said last yr. negan is nothing without his ppl behind him. in TWD world, if Negan had been a "guest" at Terminus or of the Governor, he would have crumbled to nothing in the face of those maniacs

Just a note on the episode . Did they not get a rocket launcher a while back ? How come they did not use it to flatten the gang of roadblocks , drive to the hill , fix up haircut prego girl then have a battle heading back to Alexandria .

You're asking them to act intelligently, which for this show is asking too much.

The weird thing is the premiere got huge ratings followed by a lot of fan hate right afterwards. They need to show it by not tuning in.

Why is this show still around? It has gotten all stiff and stinky already. Even the flies are getting annoyed.

And of course episode 2 is both stupid and boring. They took a break from Rick and his cast of idiots to spend an hour with Carol and Morgan who got to meet a dope who runs a fortified community, calls himself King Ezekiel and has a pet tiger (and yes, I said pet tiger).

This was the place where the comic just veered off into total stupidity for a bit until even Kirkman realized he had to make the story at least a tiny bit uplifting. Well, the show is following the same dumb plot.

Last week's episode plunged 30% from the season premiere in overall viewers and in the demo it plunged a bit over 25%. That is falling off a cliff from one week to the next.

i guess the real fans can't do without Rick, Coral, Michonne and gang in an episode.

I also think that I, as far more of a "car wreck" observer of this show then a fan, find it interesting that I actually kind of liked last weeks episode--again, it did have my two favorite characters in it-- Carol and Morgan. So i guess i am pretty much in near direct opposition to the "fans"

And Episode 3 tried to be dark (as usual) and just wound up being idiotic. Basically the entire episode was devoted to Negan's men trying to psychologically break Daryl who is their prisoner. Yawn...

And from what I see online no one is really digging this season so far. Really they needed to ditch the entire Negan plot and instead have the show depict Alexandria discovering the other communities and together the communities securing the area, cleaning out the walkers and so forth. In other words, it's long past time to show some recovery.

these saviours are really not that tough of a group to take out (for what has been shown so far)

one leader-who is most likely widely hated by even his loyalists-kill him and the rest will fold

consolidated in one location (with the exception of that tv station place they took out last yr)-we have seen no other bases

only a handful of them are armed--trust issues

now- there is military equipment laying all over the countryside. I mean Abe even found an rpg with rounds--weapons our military doesn't even use--laying on the highway! So how hard is it to get hands on actual US military weapons? Not.

it wouldn't be hard to find some mortars or a tank or two, maybe some strykers or bradley fighting vehicles, train up (every vehicle has an operators manual in it) using veterans in the group or allied groups and then take the saviours out from a distance.

but of course, that would be too realistic and we have this stupidity

let me guess--they are going to be delivered from Negan's tyranny by Carol's sniping skills, morgans akido and ezekial's tiger instead--because you know, that would be so realistic

my god did they have a lot of commercials! it was my first weekend without a dvr (i dumped directv for sling tv--no dvr or pause even ) so i couldn't FF thru them. someone sure was counting on some viewers last night!

i think i might just want someone to tell me when the boring negan stuff is going to be done; what ep will he be killed/overthrown? then i'll watch

PS==does modern medicine have a pill to cure my "completion disease" (the need to watch /read any book or tv show once i start it)?

Unfortunately they seem to have gone back on their promise that the show would not literally imitate the comic, as for the past year or more their episodes have all worked to make the show storyline match the comic storyline almost exactly. Which is not good with the falling ratings and the comic even suffering as a growing number of people are saying Kirkman needs to just end the story.
