Actually, it is about two hundred years before the Baroque period. Really old stuff dating to the 1400s.

I love baroque music. I love Bach and Handel (I play them too on piano). I have always wanted to play this, but I do not have access to a true three register organ with full foot register. This is my favorite Bach piece. My favorite works from him are the Brandenbergs.

Along with classical music, I absolutely love jazz. :) When possible, I try to catch live performances by lounge trios or small jazz bands in tucked away venues. Now, you can do that with YouTube so here is one of my favorite jazz pianists, Alex Bugnon. This tune is called Night Groove.

Well this is the song my country has deemed the best to represent our country in front of the 600 million viewers who watch the Eurovision Song Contest in may.

I have no strong feelings at all about it to be honest, but I was kind of surprised that he won. Like Eurovision, our national selection show Melodifestivalen tends to be a big ol' mess of pyrotechnics, flashing screens, complicated dance routines and confetti. I guess that was why it won, it was just a simple preformance with a simple, mellow song. Nothing over the top. Though it only won 15% of the televote/appvote so it wasn't exactly a landslide like last year when the winner got 45%, and then went on to win Eurovision as well. Which I don't expect that this song will do, which will probably please our public broadcaster who don't want to go through the enormous cost of arranging Eurovision two years in a row.

But I certainly prefer it to the songs that finished 2nd and 3rd.

ALL of them geo-locked! I had to use Hola to view them, but they are awesome! You live in a very progressive country. :)

Oh damn, this is the first year that SVT (our public broadcaster) has released the song on youtube so I hoped that the videos could at least be played internationally, but nope. Still way behind in that department.

Any favourite of the three?

I would think so since our biggest entertainment show of the year (i.e this thing) is stereotyped for being extremely gay in every way possible. ;)

This song was my favourite of the year. Not because it had great lyrics, vocals or staging. It didn't. But dammit, the guys in it just had enough energy to replace every single nuclear power plant in Sweden. You gotta appreciate that.

(not sure if this is geo-locked or not)

Here's a video of their preformance though which is a thousand times better than just the song alone. Though it's definitely geo-locked.

Great of you to post those! :beckett_new049: Though I'm afraid the third song (Ace Wilder) is fake, the link you embeded is just some old drinking song.
