Ok,so...

I don't get the concept of how the TPTB's think we are going to "buy" the idea that an earthbound human who uses tech-Batman-can take on and effect an alien who is seemingly impervious to anything the Earth has to offer against him

But anyhow---the trailer looks cool

and is this Batman a continuation of the Dark Knight Batman or his "replacement" or just a brand new start?

IMO it would be a mistake to make a new start since the DARK KNIGHT trilogy did very well and established a non comic bookish, non freakish batman who uses physical trng and advanced tech to become a "superhero" versus being an alien or an accident, etc

A new Comic Con trailer has dropped for this, and makes the movie a bit better than the first trailer did. I think I'm finally sold on Batfleck now, because he certainly looks the part judging from this, IMO. Though Lex Eisenberg is just.... no.

Well, in the graphic novel, Superman wasn't trying to beat Batman, he was taking the beating by choice. Otherwise, this fight would have been over in 30 seconds. All he'd have to do is rip off an arm or, less drastic, break his ankle or knee using his thumb and index finger with little to no effort and the fight stops.

All he would have to do is to grab him by the neck and fly into space and watch Batman choke to death. I think I have said it here before, but I always kinda rolled my eyes at Superman because I thought he was too powerful. It is the same reason I really was not into Fantastic Four comics. The Silver Surfer and Galactus are just too powerful.

Thor potentially has the same problem. And having him on the Avengers is forcing them in the movies to give them ridiculously powerful opponents.

Thor's universe should have been separated from the Avengers movies for the big screen. I know, the comics don't separate them, but for the movies it seems odd to have somebody like Black Widow along with Thor or Hulk. Thor needed a spacefaring swords and sandles thing for him, Asgard, and the villians in Thor's world.

That is why in the first Thor movie the parts taking place off of Earth are vastly superior to those on Earth.

Well, so much for that. This just got stupid for me right at the end of this trailer.

Okay, when that lizardy looking thing jumped out, I actually laughed very loudly! Then immediately after that, it was a total WTF moment (with open-mouthed facepalm). I know how I will be seeing that movie....

Lest we forget the DC comics movie track record is not the best. Basically they can claim the first two Batman films and the first two Tobey McGuire Spiderman films as okay to good. The rest have been dreck.

did they take so long to make this movie because they couldn't fig out how to end it? So they just threw in some "forget about how we have the 2 most recognizable comic book heroes fighting each other thing" that sounds like Gojira and looks like a bad, scaly replica of the Hulk instead?

Meh. Stupid movie with some nice eye candy. I'll wait for it to hit cable.

Now you're reminding us that this is the Superman from Man of Steel....:smiley-015:

That's a big part of the reason I'm not excited about this movie. Man of Steel didn't entice me to see more of this type of directorial masturbating nonsense. In fact, if it wasn't for the eye candy of Henry Cavill I probably wouldn't have sat through it the first time around. I'll probably tune in when the new one comes to cable but I won't go out of my way to see it in the theater or even order it on Netflix to be honest.

My "wtf" moment was seeing Wonder Woman at the end. They really should stop trying to bring EVERY superhero ever drawn to the big screen. Some need to stay in the comic book world.

That was what I was referring to. :) Not only does Wonder Woman not belong in a Batman vs Superman movie, but putting Batman and Superman in the same movie and having them "battle" each other is ridiculous. Superman can literally blow him away with his breath. He has used it to put out fires. He could just grab Batman and fling him into low earth orbit with one arm. :anim_59: Wonder Woman showing up was just LOL.

Like I said, it's a stupid movie. And as superheroes go Superman is a stupid concept. And Wonder Woman is kinda stupid too. (Invisible plane -- GTFO!) And now they got a homeless bum from Santa Monica pier playing Aquaman. WTF ever! :icon_lol:

DC Comics has some lame heroes. You can do separate movies for them, and they do not seem as silly, but most of them are just dumb. I do like Spidey, though. :) How is Wonder Woman's invisible plane going to compete with the Avengers' invisible aircraft carrier? And Wonder Woman would get her ass kicked by Black Widow, who is not even magical. Batman is not magical. And who are Aquaman's enemies in the 21st century, mutant dolphins? Perhaps the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?

It's the core DC issue - their "heroes" really aren't that interesting as characters in their own rights in most cases. The exceptions would be Batman and maybe Spiderman.

Regarding this iteration of Wonder Woman, she is supposed to be from the DC "New 52" comic series which means she basically is another Thor type character (Wonder Woman in New 52 is from an "asgardian" type race). Just what we needed...

If you recall, the plane was invisible but Wonder Woman could be seen when she was flying in it, like she was floating in mid air or sitting in glass. What's the tactical advantage of flying something invisible that doesn't hide its contents?
